The ever so fashionable and unique Solange was recently spotted wearing a Chrisopher Kane Spring 2012 dress with Fendi color blocked heels! Welcome to the 80s!

Resembling the shape of the riding boot, the ankle boot has taken the same form … just only shorter! With a slightly rounded almond toe, a tiny heel and the ability to make your legs look shapely (without the risk of tripping over 5 inch heels!), the ankle boot is a style saver while attempting to look comfortably fashionable. The ankle boot is best dressed with skinny jeans and/or jeggings and skirts with tights. Anything else worn with these boots will simply make your legs appear short and rounded. The purpose of ankle boots is not only to make you stylish, it will give you a better option to wear with your outfits rather than standard flats and sneakers.

To achieve this look, start off with a maxi or mini skirt. If you’re wearing a mini skirt keep in mind that you’ll want to wear black tights because this will help elongate the appearance of your legs. The show began with tailored suiting, boasting plaid and argyle socks. Patterns and separates where mixed and matched to create a more modern look. Hints of lilac layered underneath heavy vintage inspired sweaters made the ensembles all the more appealing. As the show progressed red fur gillets and leather hardware where introduced, subtly yet seductive. All of the pieces resonated with the same royal feel, a look that represents the brand. Gowns where last, using bold designs and leather outerwear to harden the look! The trends for Fall 2012 are clear, slightly feminine menswear, pleated leather and lilac!

Hot Pink is a great way to add a ultra feminine spark to any outfit. By simply wearing color with dark or neutral shades you can brighten your look. From Hot Pink ballet flats to structured pencil skirts, this color will be around every corner. Color blocking will also enhance this hue, as it is ideal to play around with!

Create a more day time friendly look with complimentary bright colors and neutral tones. Layer a white and yellow blouse under a pink pencil skirt. The nude and pearl accessories are what create the warm look. Wear the ever so essential nude pump with pearl jewelry and a patterned silk neck scarf. This look also transitions into the office!

Remember the collars on your Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger button-up shirts? Classic staple pieces no doubt, but with a little imagination you can create necklace out of them. Better known as embellished collars, they are accessories that are easily attachable to your neck to create an appearance that you’re wearing a button-up shirt, without the extra layer underneath. Readily bought at stores such as Topshop, they come in different proportions and colors that are made with sequins, beads, rhinestones, studs, pearls and many more embellishments. Also an easy DIY project, you can just cut off the collar of an unworn button-up shirt and embellish it however you want with fabric glue and patience (glueing tiny beads can be a tedious task). The embellished collar looks best on sweaters and dresses, which helps add a feeling of prep.

To achieve this look, start off with a basic black sweater that has a round neck. Button your embellished collar around your neck so that it is in the center. Embellished collars should be worn with basic tops. Anything with graphics, prints, and patterns will create a fussy look. Pair your top with black skinny jeans. If you’re around town, throw on nude colored booties that will match your handbag. Gold statement jewelry and round sunglasses are the finishing touches.
