Lets get back to one of our Spring Trend Topics, pastels! There’s no way you can doubt it! It’s ethereal, dreamy and unbelievably feminine. But what happens when you set your eyes to the other side of the color world. There, you should find the complete opposites. Not only will pastels be Spring’s biggest hit, but colors resembling your beloved highlighter pens from middle school are awakening.
80′s inspired fashion doesn’t want to leave quite yet! 2011 was an eventful year, with numerous trends going around in circles with a continuation of love for the 20′s, 40′s, 70′s and the 80′s all mixed together. With 2012 just shortly beginning, the minimalistic look of the 90′s are beginning to resurface and it’s becoming the new “classic” look. With oversized neon sweaters being a hot commodity, it is an ideal top to go with slim-fitted pants and/or mini leather skirts. Oversized neon sweaters are a great way to brighten up your outfit without mixing 20 other colors to make something “work”. With a basic yet chic silhouette of a looser, billowy top and tighter bottoms, this combination never ceases to fail because of how proportionally sound it is.
How to Wear an Oversized Neon Sweater
To achieve this look, start off with your neon sweater and a black mini skirt. If it’s warm outside the mini skirt is preferred. If it’s moderately less than 65 degrees, stick with slim-fitted pants. Remember that this outfit is very minimal because of the structure of the clothing, but the accessories make up for it. A sporty-styled heel is recommended because it adds a slight touch of masculinity. Plus, it lengthens the legs. Carry your travel needs in a a black leather bag with silver hardware. Silver works well with neon instead of gold because silver balances out the brightness of the neon sweater. Gold will clash against it. Add silver stud earrings, a silver cuff, and a silver watch as finishing touches to match the hardware of your bag. This is a great look to step into Spring as neon will help bring more colorful ideas to wear!
