The Award Shows never stop, with red carpets and ones of other hues rolling out season after season. The 63rd Emmy Awards, commonly known as the Emmys, took place in L.A. at the Kodak Theater on my birthday; September 18, 2011. Equivalent to the Grammys or the Academy Awards for television and entertainment; celebrities gallivanted the carpet in gowns that will astonish and amaze. We have picked out top looks, noted below!

Gwenyth Paltrow in Pucci

Gwenyth Paltrow bared all in this sexy lace gown. This two piece frock exposed her toned stomach and great shape. The romantic yet sexy look suites her perfectly. She paired the look with two diamond cuffs and drop earrings. Effortless!

 

Kerry Washington in Zuhair Murad

Red was the color of the evening, possibly inspired by the carpet. Kerry looked stunning in this floor sweeping gown, complete with sheer insets and glitter detailing. She used the technique of shading, accessorizing with a bold red clutch and lip.

 

Anna Faris

Anna Faris cleaned up in this geometric gown. The bold print looks radiant against her skin. A bare neckline accentuates her assets. Anna accessorized with no jewels and a racy snakeskin clutch.

 

Lea Michele in Marchesa

Lea also chose red as her color for the evening. The dramatic shoulders and double fold train of this dress makes it all the more special. Modest yet sexy, this dress boasts a draped back. A simple cocktail ring and flawless makeup polish this classy look.

 

Emily Blunt in Elie Saab

Overdone detailing only works when the craftsmanship is right. This midnight blue Elie Saab dress emulates just that. The sheer underlay and deep neckline are subtle yet sensual. Emily accessorized with a single bangle and crystal clutch.

 

Nina Dobrev in Donna Karen

This dramatic dress is just enough to make heads turn. This strapless number transcends into a piece of artwork; reminiscent of origami. The structured bodice and skin tight fit make this dress a show stopper. Nina used pewter accessories to tone down the look.

 

Heidi Klum in Christian Siriano

Heidi always knows how to pick great dresses. Christian Siriano, former Project Runway winner, created an angelic piece fit for a queen. The floral design in the skirt is over exaggerated in the most haute couture way. The simple strapless top works well with the piece. Heidi accessorized with snake skin pumps and multi color studs.

 

Olivia Munn in Carolina Herrera

Olivia played off the technique of color blocking, wearing a rich emerald green dress with red accessories. The ruffle detailing and draped back add a unique touch to this already bold gown.

 

Minka Kelly in Dior

Mina Kelly channeled the 1950′s in this lace encrusted gown. This is an example of how to properly combine black and navy blue. The colors have to be distinct yet play off of the same dark tone. The contrast between the sleeves, waist and body create the perfect vintage inspired look. A fresh face and simple studs serve its purpose and let the dress shine!
