oleksandra zubrytska, identity festival 2011

Electric Zoo is one of the biggest festivals to date and is an official mark that summer is about to end. The event happens on Randall’s Island in New York City over the Labor Day Weekend. Fortunatelly for me this is the first year that it is now for three days instead of two. I take it upon myself to work hard and party harder so I personally take this mini vacation very seriously. Planning the outfits for each one of the days months ahead. Feastivals like Electric Zoo are not about being extra or looking crazy they are about setting an atmosphere, bringing out the fearless, happy you. It’s like halloween, this weekend you can be anything you ever wanted to be. I find Oxfam to be one of my favorite websites for festival gear!

This festival season it was great to see how many girls and guys took it upon themselves and got into the spirit. I’ve seen the feather trend everywhere this summer, 70′s inspired get-ups, native american inspired headwear, the tutu’s that will never get old and oversized belly shirts in happy colors of the rainbow. Gentlemen were seen rocking the old school trucker hats in neon colors, hawaiian and plaid shirts, short shorts. My favorite though have been the awesome asortment of tanks you guys have been wearing, “Keep Calm and Party On” being my favorite!!!!!

After this weekend I’ll be posting updates and choosing Electric Zoo’s version of City Chic and City Stud!!! Stay tuned!!!
