Happy New Year Everyone! I want to wish you a year filled with fashion Dos without the Don’ts! (You can always turn The 949 for that!) This year I want to emphasize taking chances with your personal style and look. It will freshen up your outlook on the year to come!
Welcome to Week 11 in 2011! The first Global Glam of the New Year is taking you to South Africa. Through all the years of obsessing with fashion and its history, I never thought I would come across anyone who would compare to Diane Von Furstenberg’s amazing ability to create vivid and colorful fabrics. This was until I discovered Vesselina Pentcheva! Vesselina was born in Bulgaria and is now living and calling her home the beautiful country of South Africa. These are two factors that contribute to her great combination of skill and artistry. In her 2011 Spring/ Summer Collection I found an unbelievable variety of dresses that scream Africa. They carry both tribal spirit and nature in their color palette and style, yet still literally ready to wear without being too overwhelming or ostentatious. Her designs portray femininity and sexiness in a romantic way, rather than the funky that I usually tend to go for. This is me looking outside the box for 2011, now it’s your turn.
