Greece

When you think of Greece you think of ruins, mythology, beautiful architecture and the ocean. Oh how stereotypical of you! How about medieval times? That’s what this fella is living. Christoforos Kotentos‘s creations remind me of medieval times seen through a kaleidoscope. He celebrates women’s femininity and glamour from an avant-garde point of view. If you know anything about fashion history, you’ll remember the use of a corset to create the hour glass shape figure for women. Christoforos uses particular pattern cuts to create the illusion and similar effect without cutting off the blood circulation on the model’s body. Tights and leggings are very popular today, however his unique use really brought the garments together.
I love his newest collection for winter 2010/11. Hopefully I can find the courage to actually wear his collection out. It may be a bit loud, but it’s screaming the right words of a strong, confident, independent woman. Take a look, get inspired and enjoy!
