Here’s another country to add to the list of those who are taking steps towards changing the fashion industry: Brazil. Something special is definitely going on here. And today, the momentum has nothing to do with their soccer and samba. Brazil is claiming its place on the global stage, and interestingly fashion is playing a major role in the country’s success. I’m not talking about the immigration of the gorgeous Brazilian models either.
Instead of choosing oh so popular swim suit designer that you were probably expecting, I found someone who is thinking informatively. As soon as I looked through Andre Herchcovitch’s Autumn-Winter 2010/11, I got rid of the other designers that I thought should represent Brazil. The more I looked, the more I fell deeper and deeper under his spell. The aesthetics of his collection took my breath away. He even makes the plaid look chic. Love him, love him, love him!!
